I think we can all agree that lounging around on a weekend is the perfect way to recharge after a busy week. And whilst home is usually pretty cosy, the fact that you are still in cell phone coverage means that sometimes the emails and work keeps going. Since few of us have the time or resources to go on an epic weekend retreat in Bali, it can be hard to manage work and play (when work never stops).
If you are anything like me, I rarely venture out of the bubble that is my work/uni/home area. And between bus rides and lectures in rooms with no windows, you can forget that there is actually a tonne of beautiful locations just a stone throw away from Sydney.
So, the next time you feel like you want to break your phone because it won’t stop buzzing, why not take a timeout in one of these beautiful retreats around Sydney.
These gorgeous little cabins from Unyoked are located just 2hr north of Sydney in various spots. It’s like camping, but without the leaky tent and cold showers.
Head south of Sydney for two hours and you will come across the gorgeous getaway that is Shoalhaven. With gorgeous beaches and all of the oysters, it’s the perfect place to go and recharge.
If you are more into a country getaway, Berry is located 2 hours from Sydney CBD and is home to the Back 2 Earth Retreat. This is perfect for those who love wandering through parklands, learning about farming and picking produce and raw vegan cuisine.
Now Byron isn’t quite driving distance but with a total flight time of just over an hour its perfect for a weekend getaway. Enjoy the gorgeous beaches that are just a 10-minute walk away from the gorgeous Village Glamping site. This definitely isn’t your average camping trip, plus these tents are totally Insta-worthy.
The perfect weekend retreat for health fanatics and yogis alike. Billabong Retreat is just 1 hour north of Sydney and with meditation, magnesium aqua therapy pools and healthy delicious food, what’s not to love?
I have been to the Blue Mountains many times, just because it is so close to Sydney and the perfect way to get out of the city and into nature. And whilst there are heaps of options for accommodation here, you can't go past Love Cabins. Whether you want to stay in a cave, treehouse or teepee, Love Cabins has you sorted. I have my eyes on the treehouse.
