Cookies for breakfast!? You can on National Cookie Day

Cookies for breakfast!? You can on National Cookie Day

Full disclosure: I am extremely partial to the humble cookie. To me, there is nothing better than one fresh out of the oven with the chocolate all melted - and nothing worse than being tricked into thinking that a cookie has choc chips but actually has dried fruit. It's only natural then, that National Cookie Day is one of my favourite days of the year.

So with that being said, I personally need no excuse to eat cookies all day every day, especially once you know how to change it up with ingredients that won't make you bounce off the walls like a hyperactive 2-year-old. Here's a roundup of my fave cookie recipes to help you celebrate (not that you need a reason).

Parsnip Oatmeal Cookies

Eating cookies for breakfast becomes a lot more acceptable when vegetables and oats are involved don't you think?

Chocolate Tahini Whoopie Pies

The only thing that could possibly make cookies any better would be to add a cream layer in between. So we did.

4 Ingredient Freezer Cookies

Because we all love cookies but we are also busy people who love fast recipes.

Choc Chip Cookie Dough Dip

If eating raw cookie dough is more of your kind of vibe, then we also got you covered. Plus there is no raw egg involved here.

Tigernut Chocolate Chip Cookies

It's like the humble choc chip cookie but with added fibre and minerals from the tigernuts (which are actually not a nut btw).

Paleo Cookies

I'm not convinced that people in the Paleolithic era ate choc chip cookies, but these are absolutely delish so I am not complaining.

And since it is Cookie Day, we'd love to help you celebrate with 25% OFF cookie dough Fit Mixes (best present ever right??). Just use the code COOKIETIME25 until 31st Jan 2019. You lucky lot. I promise no fruit bits.
