#GIRLCRUSH: Nadia Felsch + her ‘Path To Wholefoods’

Nadia Felsch is a very special gal. With a background in marketing for a huge swimwear company, a former gym junkie and the typical stressed-out lifestyle leading to anxiety, Nadia's life has now done a 180. She came to the realisation that life is more than dieting and working up a sweat in the gym, but actually embracing food and moving her body in a way that feel good. Now an avid yoga fan, she quit her corporate life to follow her passion and embarked upon a degree in Nutritional Medicine. She's ready to share her knowledge with hundreds of other busy women, and help them on their journey to healthy eating and more importantly, healthy living.

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR ONLINE COURSE ‘PATH TO WHOLEFOODS'?

We live in a society almost breathless for a ‘quick fix’ and that is evidenced everywhere. From magazines and media posts to the products in our supermarkets and I mean – ‘products.’ Food that has been created in a laboratory and ticks the box for a well-marketed and often brand-new niche; food designed to ‘fit’ into our poor lifestyles where we don’t always take the best care.

After years of struggle, and I mean serious struggle with how to eat well within a busy life and all of the dysfunction and obsession that often follows that intention around; I found my own way. A decade-long journey of self-discovery that has now seen me experiencing the greatest health of my life. Witnessing other busy women grapple with this same issue day after day. From diets and deprivation, to extremes and obsessions or simply feeling lost in a sea of ‘health’ messages, I knew that I had something distinctly unique and truly valuable to offer.

And so the PATH TO WHOLEFOODS online program was born.

Equipping and empowering busy women to lead their best life and find eating freedom. To get in touch with your body’s own natural instincts and locate the oh-so-fabulous eating freedom. PATH TO WHOLEFOODS is about retraining the brain. It’s learning new or refining existing skills. It’s getting real with yourself and about lasting transformation. And you can find out about our next live round starting in February right here.

WHAT’S YOUR FOOD PHILOSOPHY?

Eating real food. Vibrant food. Fresh food.Nadia iced tea 2

Dropping the labels – both of how we think of the food we eat and on the actual food itself.

Because real food doesn’t need a label or a deciphering of its ingredients, it is the ingredient.

And it’s absolutely perfect all on its own.

When we nourish with wholefoods, we thrive and are able to connect with our true instincts.

The ones that tell us when we’re hungry and when we’re not, the ones that steer us to the foods that we work best for us as unique individuals and those that enable us to live at our peak, everyday.

One of the oldest and most established practices of medicine is food. Both in prevention and cure, for all kinds of issues and this ancient and innate knowledge within us all, deserves more of our attention.

My food philosophy is about honouring real food, simple techniques and incredible taste for maximum nutrition and enjoyment.

WHAT’S DO YOU WANT WOMEN TO TAKE FROM THE PROGRAM?

Amazing question!

That food isn’t the enemy and everything you pine after – feeling and looking amazing, thriving and enjoying food without stress and drama is not only possible – it’s yours to claim.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUICK TIPS FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO CLEAN UP THEIR DIET?

Make a wholefoods swap!

Next time that you’re shopping, in your kitchen or out to eat – make just one simple swap.

So for example, instead of buying store-bought pesto which often has anywhere upwards of 10+ processed and chemical additives that are totally unnecessary for us, swap it for this 5-minute fast, simple and insanely delicious pesto recipe!

IF I LOOKED INSIDE YOUR FRIDGE, WHAT WOULD I FIND?

The 3 items that you’d almost always find are:

  • Avocados – flavour, fat, creaminess and versatility in one incredible fruit (yes it’s a fruit!)
  • Almost every herb imaginable – my not-so-secret, secret to flavouring food
  • Hard boiled eggs that I prep and peel at the start of the week – the humble vegetarian protein and one of the greatest bang for buck (and nutrition), foods out there!

WHAT WOULD YOUR LAST SUPPER BE?

A handmade egg pasta dish with a classic tomato and basil sauce and fresh pecorino cheese.

A fresh, crunchy salad on the side of cucumbers and avocado with a vinaigrette dressing, a glass of insanely good Pinot Noir and berry gelato to finish.

ANY NEW & EXCITING PROJECTS ON THE HORIZON?

A Part 2 to the PATH TO WHOLEFOODS program has already been widely requested and for those seeking further knowledge on their wholefoods and eating journey, I think this will be fantastic so keep an eye out for that possibly in late 2016.

I’ll also be getting back out there in the ‘offline world’ running super fun and interactive workshops and retreats with other talented humans.

Of course continuing to support the wonderful women in my program and passing the halfway point of my Nutritional Medicine degree at university.

Bring it on!
