THE hottest healthy travel destination this Spring

Want to get your body in shape for summer and have an amazing vacay? Here’s 5 reasons why you need to head to SRI LANKA this spring!

1. Incredible Surfing

Loads of islands in Asia have beautiful beaches and good surf, but Sri Lanka has plenty of uncrowded surf spots all year round! Not only that, it has perfect breaks for beginners right up to more advanced surfers. Check out Hiriketiya in the South, Hikkaduwa in the West and Arugam Bay in the East.

2. Ayurveda

Sri Lanka is the home of the Doshas, a medicinal system primarily derived from ancient ‘Vedic’ philosophy. Ayurvedic therapies focus on the five senses of touch, taste, sound, sight and smell. They have been known to help relieve ailments and combat disease, particularly for niggling skin and digestive conditions. Don’t be put off by the interesting potions – everything is au-natural – just make sure you visit a reputable clinic.

3. The People

The people here are some of the happiest, friendliest and most caring humans on the planet, which can’t help but rub off on you. You’ll leave a different, happier soul.

4. Landscape and Wildlife

Adventurers can explore Lion’s Rock, Adam’s Peak, or the mountains of Kandy. If your more of a culture vulture, check out the tea plantations, safari with elephants and leopards, and visit the beautiful temples. Just want to relax? There’s so many beautiful, clean beaches there’s sure to be one that fits your holiday style. You can spot sea turtles while swimming or surfing too. Love!

5. Soul, sunshine and a bit of ‘me’ time

Sri Lanka has managed to keep its soul and cultural identity without giving way to too much Western influence. This means instead of exploring nightclubs and raging in bars (urghhh), travellers get back to basics to enjoy the landscape and adventure.
